Health and Social Care is a sector that relies on individuals who are capable, adaptable, and proactive. This programme aims to provide you with the tools to meet these demands, making sure you’re ready to face challenges and develop solutions. Through practical learning and personal development, you’ll gain the ability to think critically, solve problems, and work effectively both on your own and as part of a team. These are the core skills employers in the sector value and seek in their employees.
There are a variety of assessments such as presentations, projects, reports and blogs. There are no examinations.
This programme is available to Home applicants.
Applications to our full-time undergraduate courses must be made directly to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David using our online application form.
Entry onto the programme is by individual merit. Normally students under the age of 21 will have at least 1 A Level or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent. Mature Candidates – experience can often be taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Grades are important; however, our offers are not solely based on academic results.
Admissions Advice and Support
We may make you a lower offer based on a range of factors, such as your background, experiences and individual circumstances. This is known as ‘Contextual Admissions’. For specific advice and support you can contact our enquiries team for more information about entry requirements.
English language requirements
If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.
Visit the International Applications section of our website to find out more about our English Language Requirements and pre-sessional English Language Courses.
Visa and funding requirements
If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa.
For courses of more than six months’ duration you will require a Student visa.
International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship.
For full information read our visa application and guides.
Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study.
This programme is specifically focused on employability, ensuring that students are able to use workplace experiences to inform their studies throughout each module.
Explicit outcomes include the creation of digital portfolios, through which students can demonstrate their understanding of key skills, theories and methodologies for use at interview and to secure career progression.
